1997 EXCITING YEAR FOR THE PEDERSEN FAMILY!!

Wow! It has been another exciting year for the Pedersen family and Global

Outreach Ministries. Since our last newsletter we have been

traveling and ministering in several different countries as well as in many different states. The Lord continues to open many doors of ministry for us. It is so exciting to go where He leads.

We have also heard from many of you and appreciate so much your words and actions of support and prayers. The Lord truly does do above and beyond what we can ask or think and we have experienced this again this year.

It has been delightful to be in touch with so many of you through the Internet also. What an amazing way to communicate!!! We love your encouraging e-mails and updates, as well as your prayer requests.

We have a new e-mail address created specifically for your prayer requests. These requests will be forwarded to other intercessory prayer warriors on-line who will pray specifically for your requests. This new e-mail address is: PrayGlobal@aol.com.

Coming soon there will be another expansion of Global Outreach Ministries. We are progressing toward a world wide web home page. www.pedersenministries.com Page 13 of this newsletter will provide you with further information about this.

GLOBAL OUTREACH VISION BEING FULFILLED

PASTOR'S PEN

Pastor Pedersen writes about his recent trip to LATVIA

Latvia? I can almost hear some of you asking, "Where is Latvia? I've never heard of that country before."

Well, Latvia is one of the three Baltic states, Estonia borders Latvia on the North, Lithuania on the south, and Russia on the East, with the Baltic sea on the west. It is south of Finland and east of Sweden across the Baltic Sea. Now you have an idea where this small country is located.

Latvia was swallowed up by Russia during communism's power days. Since the downfall of communist Russia, Latvia has once again regained its sovereignty. Riga, the capital city seems to be thriving economically, but needs a spiritual revival desperately.

Communism's religion of atheism has left its mark on Latvia. Yet, one can sense there is a longing in the hearts of many Latvians to know the true and Living God.

The Word of God declares "In the last days saith God, I will pour out of my spirit on all flesh". That great promise includes the small Baltic state of Latvia. If the Lord places it on your heart, be faithful to pray for this country and it's kind and friendly people.

The opportunity was given to us to visit and minister in this small spiritually needy country this past July. We had the opportunity to visit a number of prisons while there. One was a youth correctional facility and another was a women's facility. It was sad to see hundreds of good looking young men behind bars as well as many young mothers in the women's prison. Their only hope is JESUS!

With the help of the Holy Spirit we preached Jesus to them. There was a wonderful response to the gospel from all the facilities visited. Although we were not allowed to call them forward for personal prayer, when the alter call was given they vigorously responded by upraised hands.

Bibles in their language were given to them. These Bibles were donated by The Lords Ranch in Warm Springs Arkansas. Bud and Shirley Suhl, Founders of The Lords Ranch have a great heart of love for those who are behind bars.

The Bible

reads in Matthew 25:34-40:

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." t

BOOK REVIEW from Pastors Library

BY PASTOR PEDERSEN

Pastor Pedersen reviews and recommends the book:

"FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE" by: Jim Cymbala with Dean Merrill

Books -- Most preachers enjoy reading, not merely for the pleasure of it, but to gain inspiration, insight, and knowledge from Godly authors.

Some books are merely read once, after which the book is cataloged and shelf bound. Other Books are consulted often and become important reference sources.

Then there is the "must read" category, the book that's hard to put down, the book that penetrates the soul, the book you tell your peers to read, the book that gives one a wake up call, such a book is "FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE".

Listening to Trinity Broadcasting Network, one evening, Pastor Phil Munsey, the gifted anointed young preacher was ministering on the subject of prayer. During his message he picked up a book and publicly read the account of the conversion of Jim Cymbala's daughter. The book he read from was of course "FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE".

Pastor Phil Munsey was so touched and moved by this wonderful answer to prayer that he felt impelled to read it over national television.

I'll not share that amazing and soul stirring testimony here, but encourage you to get "FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE". I assure you, you will not be sorry. The book will encourage, bless, and strengthen your faith in Jesus. It is 125 pages long, but on each page you will sense the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

As already stated it is a "must read" book. Get it!!

Thank you Pastor Jim Cymbala for writing "FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE". t

To get the book:

"FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE" is published by Zondervan Publishing House and should be available at your Christian Bookstore.

SOME HIGHLIGHTS FROM 1997

"Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good for his mercy endureth forever."

As we approach Christmas 1997 the above verse is our testimony. "GIVE THANKS" is our responsibility. To whom should our thanks be directed? "TO THE LORD". Why? "FOR HIS MERCY". How long does His mercy last? "FOREVER".

So, we give heartfelt thanks to Jesus for another year of blessing He has extended to us. Some of our time has been at The Lord's Ranch in Warm Springs, Arkansas, but there have been many other highlights as well.

Last Christmas we spent in Florida and for the first time in many years spent it together with "Mom Pedersen" (Pastor's mother).

So, here's a brief recap of our year:

January '97 was spent in sunny Florida before returning North. More about Florida on page 10.

February '97 brought us back to The Lord's Ranch in Arkansas. More about the Ranch on page 12.

March '97 Sue was in Monterrey, Mexico with a number of ladies from Homewood Full Gospel Church and other places, to minister at the exciting and growing annual women's convention.

April '97 We attended the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies Convention in Smithtown, New York. We want to thank Homewood Full Gospel Church for sponsoring us for this trip. Pastor was privileged to be one of the speakers. His topic was "Roots Worth Remembering". It was the 75th Anniversary Convention of the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies.

E

We enjoyed the fellowship with many Pastors and wives from around the country as well as many friends from our younger years growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Here pictured is standing left to right: Pastor Dick Carlson, Pastor Pedersen, Pastor Wesley Braaten. Seated in front left to right are their spouses: Ellen Carlson, Sue Pedersen, Evelyn Braaten.

E

We also had the opportunity to spend some time with a very special family in New York. Pastor Gary Zarlengo and his wonderful family. Pastor Zarlengo is one of the pastors at Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle. He was saved during our ministry at HFGC and has become a powerful man of God and tremendous preacher. Here is Pastor Zarlengo pictured with Pastor and Sue during the convention.

April '97 (cont.) While in Chicago for a week, Sue had the opportunity to attend the "Women of the Word" Conference with some very special lady friends from Homewood Full Gospel Church. The picture below shows left to right back row - Jane Hayes (who has since gone to be with the Lord) Judy Miller, Dee Kiser, Laura Mangiaracina. Front row left to right - Lynn Bell, Virginia Rudolph, Lillian Nelson, Sue Pedersen. Thank you ladies for being such a blessing in our lives.

Women of the Word Conference (ladies names listed above) - 1997

May '97 Sue participated once again in the "NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER" and the annual TV38 Spring Telethon.

June '97 found Pastor flying to Riga, Latvia ministering together with Rev. Bud Suhl from The Lord's Ranch. Other stops during that trip were Paris, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. He writes more about his trip on page 2 and 3 under Pastors Pen.

July '97 we visited Dean and Anita and our grandchildren, in their lovely new four bedroom home in Minnesota. Dean continues as a TV producer for "Home Savvy" a show aired on The Learning Channel weekly. They are expecting their 4th child in January. We flew back to Florida for "Mom Pedersen's" 102nd birthday on July 22nd. It was a wonderful time together with my mom, my brother, and my sister. Exactly 2 months later September 22, the Lord took Mom home.

August '97 while in Florida, Pastor was taken to the emergency department at Columbia Medical Center where he was admitted and underwent major surgery. He was hospitalized for ten days and convalesced for a period of time in Florida. The ventral thrombectomy was a complete success and Pastor is again enjoying excellent health. Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy!!!

September '97 Mom Pedersen went home to be with the Lord and the Pedersen family gathered together in Port Charlotte. We all rejoiced for the heritage we received because of her.

October '97 brought us back to Chicago for a week where we visited Dianne and Russ and our grandchildren. We stayed with Dianne in her place downtown on the 22nd floor overlooking Lake Michigan.

November '97 we are excited to be back in Arkansas and the ministry at The Lord's Ranch. More on page 12.

December '97

May the Lord bless each of you and from all of us have a Blessed Christmas and Glorious New Year. t

"CUP OF COFFEE" WITH SUE

By: Solveig (Sue) Pedersen

(above) Here is Sue in Florida with her cup of coffee.

Early one morning as I was praying for the nations, a specific scripture verse came to me. "Ask and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the farthest parts of the earth for your possession." Psalm 2:8 I also heard as I was praying and listened, "Do not stop crying out to the Lord for us" 1 Samuel 7:8 Then the many nations we have visited came before my eyes. I named the nations before God. I saw some of the people from every kindred, tribe, and tongue that we had in some way or another touched with the good news of Jesus Christ. It became so real to me again to pray for all the nations. I just want to encourage each of you right now to touch the world through prayer. You can do this through intercessory prayer in your time alone with God. You and God alone. He is so precious to me and I am encouraging you as well as myself to continue to pray for the nations.

Get your globe out. Lay your hands on a nation.

Pray for the needs of that nation as if it all depended on you.

Pray using the Word of God. It is powerful.

Pray with your understanding.

Pray in the spirit. Be alert and ever interceding with tears, groanings, and thanksgivings, standing in the gap for all of His people everywhere.

Pray for the lost and dying.

Pray that multitudes may come to know Jesus as a personal Lord and Savior, Redeemer and Friend.

Pray for a "NOW" (rhema) Word that the Lord will give you prophetic insight for any given situation you ask of Him.

Pray as never before in 1998.

Pray without ceasing. I Thess. 5:17 t

A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN

"A Glimpse of Heaven" is the book written by Solveig "Sue" Pedersen with Anne Sandberg. Jerry Rose, President of WCFC-TV38 Chicago wrote the forward for the book. The book was almost sold out this past year from it's first printing. It will be going for a second printing in 1998.

You are still able to order your copy directly from Global Outreach Ministries.

You don't want to miss getting a copy for yourself and your friends and loved ones. The book will challenge and inspire you. There continues to be requests and offers to have it translated into different languages.

This book tells of the experiences of Sue Pedersen, who had an experience by which she was taken into heaven, then returned to earth. It also contains insights and nuggets which will promote the spiritual growth of Christians in these areas:

- The value of praying in the Spirit -

- The concept of "receiving" from the Lord -

- The ministry of angels in answering prayer -

- Music in heaven -

- The warring angels -

- The awesome majesty of God's throne room -

SUNNY FLORIDA

What glorious times we have spent in Florida in 1997. We have traveled down there several times during this past year. Our daughter Dianne bought a lovely condominium in Port St. Lucie for a winter get-away spot and we have been enjoying the benefits of that.

We were able to fellowship with the Pastors and congregation members of Calvary Worship Center. This is the church that Pastor Arne Dahl (Sue's father) started when he "retired" to Florida.

It is a wonderful growing church with new and ever expanding facilities. Pastor Tom Smith is the senior pastor and doing a great work. Dr. Richard Aanonsen is on staff at the church as Christian Counselor. Dr. Aanonsen is married to Sue's sister Else and it is so nice to have them live nearby in Florida. t

TRUE HEROES

by: Dr. Dianne Pedersen

(above) Dr. Dianne Pedersen 1997

Pastor and Mrs. Osborn Arnes have been shining Godly examples to me for many years.

As I watched them through the eyes of an impressionable child I saw how they supported my parents with prayer, encouraging words, Christ like loyalty, and friendship during some difficult times in the ministry.

More often, I watched as they were among the first to rejoice and express their joy for the abundance of triumphs, multitudes of victories, souls won for Jesus and scores of great successes the Lord has produced through my parents ministry.

I knew they were true genuine people of God. They exhibited the characteristics that the Bible teaches us are "those to be sought after and emulated".

These are the true heroes of the faith. These are the kinds of true friends that show us the nature of God through their lives every day. My family is privileged to have been touched by them and to have received from their ministry and to call them friends. Only heaven will show the extent of, and far reaching effects, that their dedicated lives have produced.

Thank you for your commitment to the Lord and your example to others.

Thank you for your friendship and love.

Thank you for the laughs and fun times.

Thank you for your many words of encouragement and prayer. t

You are true HEROES of the FAITH and I feel so privileged to have been touched by your lives.

THE LORD'S RANCH

Warm Springs, ARKANSAS

(above) Lt. to Rt. Gary Jackson, Sue, Pastor, Rev. Alonza Jiles, Antrim Gates. These are 3 of the many Godly dedicated servants of the Lord working at The Lord's Ranch.

(above) Pastor dedicating the first born baby boy of Darrel and Debra Kester, "Joshua Morgan Kester ". Two Godly dedicated teachers at The Lord's Ranch School.

(above) Pastor feeding his favorite horse who he has named "Big Guy" . When Pastor calls, "Big Guy" comes from across the pasture and is happy to eat some sweets from Pastor's hand.

As you can see from the picture (top left) Gary Jackson is a big man. He was a star football player on the Arkansas State University football team. As big as he is physically he is even more so spiritually.

Rev. Alonza Jiles (also pictured top left) is an anointed preacher of the Gospel. He has an excellent evangelistic ministry. Whenever he preaches at The Lord's Ranch the residents listen with great interest to his message. Alonza comes from a very athletic family. He has two brothers who play football in the NFL. One plays on the Seattle Seahawks and the other one on the Tennessee Oilers. Both are saved and love the Lord.

Darrel Kester (pictured bottom left) does an excellent job presenting the "Global Prayer Watch" Nation of the Week each Sunday Morning at The Lord's Ranch Christian Center. He then leads the congregation in prayer for that nation. t

Continue praying for the staff and the residents of The Lords Ranch Ministry.

GLOBAL OUTREACH MINISTRIES

WILL SOON BE ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB

AT

www.pedersenministries.com

We are excited to announce the launching of our new WORLD WIDE WEB HOME PAGE AND SITE. You will be able to find us on the web at: www.pedersenministries.com

There is so much information on the web and we are excited to be able to communicate with you through this wonderful technology. At our web site you will be able to send prayer requests directly to the Global Prayer Network. It will be accessible to intercessors around the world. In the future you will also be able to access devotionals given by Pastor and have access to other Christians sites through links from www.pedersenministries.com

"Cyberspace is a new world for Christians to explore. Imagine:

· corresponding with overseas missionaries without waiting days or weeks for your letters to arrive.

· attending Bible college without ever leaving home.

· discussing home schooling resources with other parents across the country.

· searching multiple Bible translations electronically

· conversing with a Greek scholar about the use of the word logos in John's gospel

· browsing the latest Christian magazines such as Christianity Today and Marriage Partnership, without a subscription.

These and many other experiences await you in cyberspace. Although many Christians have already started using the on-line world for personal growth and discipleship, millions more are missing some great opportunities. The on-line world is continuing to grow, and you have a real opportunity to not only witness history in the making, but to actively participate and even influence, how cyberspace will develop in the coming years. Fortunately some computer-savvy believers have already started harnessing the power of cyberspace for God's kingdom. As more Christians enter cyberspace, more will become available. In order for the church to take advantage of this extraordinary resource, Christians must learn how to navigate this on-line ocean." Quote taken from the book "Christian Cyberspace Companion" by Jason D. Baker, publisher Baker Books. Recommended!!!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

"MOM"

INGA PEDERSEN

1895 - 1997

Very few people are blessed to have their Mom live as long as Mom Pedersen lived. She lived exactly 102 years and 2 months. Longevity certainly was a strong virtue, but not her strongest. Above all she loved Jesus and served Him faithfully. She was also loving, kind, patient, honest, generous, ambitious, and a fabulous cook.

During a time of great difficulty in her young life she surrendered her heart to Jesus through the ministry of Pastor Arne Dahl, (Sue's father) who at that time was pastoring at Salem Scandinavian Pentecostal Assembly located on 52nd Street and 7th Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Mom's decision to serve the Lord was final. There was no turning back, no vacillating.

Though she had to work long hours outside the home to support four children, that never stopped her from making sure those children went to Sunday School, children's meeting, Sunday morning, and Sunday night services. Because of her life and example, all four children are saved.

Mom came to the USA all by herself from Norway when she was 18 years old. She was one of the thousands of immigrants who landed at Ellis Island to be processed for entry into this country and her name is engraved at the American Immigrant Wall of Honor there. Though she had one sister and three brothers she was the only one in her family to immigrate to the United States.

Mom was the anchor of the family. She set the pace, she led the way, she did the sacrificing. Her goal was for her four offspring to be successful in life, but first of all that they would follow the Lord. Her prayers were heard and answered as her children, and most all of her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren are saved.

Thank you MOM for leading us to Jesus. We miss you, but will meet you and Greta again on heaven's golden shore.

Although we will miss her greatly, we sorrow not as the world without hope, because we know that the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

We rejoice for the glorious years we have had together with MOM. She served the Lord with her whole heart, and her life was blessed with His goodness. We will always remember her fun loving nature and the times of joy and laughter we shared. We also look forward to the ultimate joy of spending eternity together with Jesus.

Pastor's Mother, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 1997 at the age of 102.

A NOTE OF THANKS

Thank you for your many expressions of love in cards, letters, flowers, and calls during this time. We so appreciate your thoughtfulness and prayers. t

A SPECIAL EXPRESSION OF THANKS TO MARGARET EDWARDSON, PASTOR'S SISTER, FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF "MOM". WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU MARGARET, AND OWE YOU A GREAT DEBT OF GRATITUDE FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS!
